Superintendent, CSA

Hut 8Corpus Christi, TX
Onsite

About The Position

The Superintendent, CSA leads civil, structural, and architectural field execution for a new data center build - owning day-to-day site operations for this scope in a high-stakes, mission-critical environment. Reporting to the Construction Manager and Director, Construction, this role drives schedule, coordinates trades, and enforces safety and quality from mobilization through turnover. Superintendents are the standard on a Hut 8 site: what you walk past, you approve.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of field supervision on heavy civil, structural concrete, or large industrial/commercial building projects; data center, semiconductor, or mission-critical experience strongly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of earthwork operations, foundation systems, concrete placement, tilt-wall/precast erection, and structural steel - including QA/QC and special inspection requirements.
  • Proven ability to sequence sitework and vertical construction to protect downstream MEP and equipment-set milestones.
  • Strong command of three-week look-ahead planning, manpower review, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Safety leadership on high-risk CSA work: excavation, cranes, and work at height; OSHA 30 preferred.
  • Quality discipline on embeds, anchor bolts, and tolerances - the details that decide whether steel and equipment land.
  • Comfortable with construction management platforms (Procore, ACC, or similar) and full CSA drawing packages.
  • Clear daily reporting and documentation habits.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise mass grading, excavation, underground utilities, stormwater systems, roadways, and site improvements. Coordinate survey control, earthwork QA/QC (compaction testing, proof rolls, subgrade acceptance), and dewatering operations. Sequence sitework deliberately to release foundations and vertical construction on schedule.
  • Supervise deep and shallow foundations, structural concrete, tilt-wall or precast erection, and structural steel. Manage concrete placement plans, rebar and embed inspections, anchor bolt survey verification, and structural QC hold points with third-party special inspectors - embeds and anchor bolts placed wrong are the most expensive small mistakes on the job.
  • Drive building envelope, roofing, exterior skin, doors and hardware, and interior architectural finishes. Own the water-tightness milestones that gate MEP rough-in and equipment set, and run finish and punch phases with discipline.
  • Own the three-week look-ahead for CSA scopes: constraint identification, manpower loading review, and daily coordination with CSA subcontractors. Feed accurate progress to the Planner/Scheduler and escalate slippage with a recovery proposal, not just a report.
  • Enforce the site safety program for CSA work - excavation protection, crane and rigging operations, work at height, and concrete operations. Verify installed work against IFC drawings and specs, and hold trade partners to first-time quality.
  • Maintain daily reports, progress quantities, and photo documentation. Drive CSA RFIs and field issues to resolution with the Project Engineer (CSA) and the Civil/Structural Engineers, and capture as-built conditions as the work goes in.
