About The Position

You are a seasoned Superintendent with 7+ years of field operations experience on multi-disciplinary, large-scale construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for the smooth, day-to-day management of field activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, on budget, and to the highest standards of quality. You will develop and implement project plans and schedules, uphold company safety and quality programs, and direct the work of field staff, contractors, and trades. Working independently with minimal guidance, you will serve as a resource for less-experienced team members while supporting the successful execution of project goals and contributing to the organization’s long-term success. Requirements

  • 7+ years of construction experience in a Superintendent position
  • Experience with residential or commercial projects
  • Combination of work experience in a similar role and industry-related trade certification/education
  • Expertise in safety within the organization and knowledge of OH&S and Environmental standards and regulations
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, and the ability to work with senior management
  • Strong technical knowledge of modern construction practices, documents, drawings, schedules, technologies, equipment, industry practices and contract negotiations

Responsibilities

  • Oversee staff to ensure the successful delivery of construction projects to completion
  • Promotes the overall site safety program including subcontractor compliance with Ledcor standards, the Health Safety and Environmental Plan (HSE Plan), and all applicable OH&S acts, regulations, and codes
  • Ensures that field staff are equipped with the resources required to efficiently complete projects according to approved plans, specifications and applicable building codes
  • Actively participates in the pre-bid and preconstruction process regarding site layout, logistics, scheduling, and workforce planning
  • Review and maintain schedule, ensure milestones are met, identify scheduling issues and delays and lead solution development
  • Maintains strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients/consultants
  • Supports and promotes Ledcor’s core values of safety, quality, integrity, sustainability and success
  • Managing hourly employees as required, including forepersons, carpenters, and labour staff
