Superconducting Circuit Quantum Engineer

Applied Materials•Santa Clara, CA
•$138,000 - $190,000

About The Position

Applied Materials’ CTO group works on enabling technologies for quantum information applications, including superconducting qubits and optical quantum computing. The group collaborates with system companies and universities to develop quantum devices with lower error rates by applying materials engineering and semiconductor processing to improve device performance. The Superconducting Circuit Quantum Engineer will apply hands-on expertise in superconducting circuit and device design, micro/nanofabrication, and cryogenic characterization to develop materials, processes, and devices for emerging quantum information technologies. The role involves working across materials, process engineering, device design, characterization, and integration teams, as well as engaging with customers and external research and supply-chain partners. This is a full-time, new-college-graduate role based in Santa Clara, California, with 10% travel and relocation eligibility. The stated salary range is $138,000–$190,000. The selected candidate’s offer will depend on factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. Candidates may also be eligible for bonus and stock awards, as applicable. The company describes a supportive work culture and a comprehensive benefits package, without specifying individual benefits in this posting.
