About The Position

East Gate Church is hiring a part-time Sunday School Teacher for the School Age Classroom. This role supports families by providing consistent, Christ-centered teaching on Sunday mornings, helping children engage Scripture in a way they can understand and apply. Kid Connect, the children's ministry of East Gate Church, aims to partner with families in raising a generation that knows and loves Jesus through engaging Bible lessons, prayer, age-appropriate activities, and meaningful relationships in a safe, nurturing, and fun environment.

Requirements

Experience working with children and creating interactive lesson plans.
CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain).
Dependable, patient, and trustworthy.
Supports East Gate Church’s mission.

Responsibilities

Prepare and lead interactive Bible lessons for school-age children.
Facilitate prayer, discussion, and age-appropriate activities.
Maintain a safe, orderly classroom; follow check-in/out and allergy notes.
Communicate concerns to Kid Connect leadership and, when needed, request parent contact.
Reset and sanitize the room after class.
Arrive at 9:00 AM to open the School Age room, straighten the space, lay out activities and snacks, and pray over the kids and their families.
Greet parents, note allergies or special instructions, and help children settle as check-in begins.
Confirm each child is released to the right adult at pick-up, share a highlight from the morning, and close out by sanitizing and resetting the classroom for next week.
