The SUN Site Supervisor works under the supervision of the SUN Program Manager and the school Principal to co-manage SUN activities. This role involves program development, community outreach, service coordination, resource development, volunteer coordination, budget monitoring, reporting, and planning. Key qualities sought are creative interaction and community building skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in community organizing, education, planning, social work or related field.
  • Knowledge of community school model.
  • 2-3 years of experience in program development, education, human service planning and/or community development.
  • Three years supervisory and program oversight experience.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and complete multiple and varied tasks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Sensitivity and ability to relate to people from diverse lifestyles and cultures.
  • Excellent human service planning skills and ability to engage a broad spectrum of community members in planning efforts.
  • Ability and willingness to work as a team member and support the mission and goals of Impact NW and the school’s community.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Somali, Spanish or Arabic.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership in the development and support of work groups, and action planning, designed to further the mission and goals of SUN.
  • Conducts on-going outreach and recruitment of a broad and diverse base of community members, organizations and businesses to participate in SUN planning and implementation of programs and activities.
  • Promotes resource development by communicating with the Development Department regarding resource solicitation and soliciting and assessing cash and in-kind resources.
  • Coordinates with other community, school and public service providers to place a variety of support services at the school for families.
  • Collects and analyzes data, including distribution and collection of surveys, ensuring program participation data is complete, cleaned, and entered, and ensuring academic data trends and risk factors are complete and entered.
  • Performs and/or participates in program evaluation, using data from multiple sources to improve program performance.
  • Supervises and supports program staff, contractors, partners, and volunteers, including providing program orientation, performing annual performance reviews, providing training and regular supervision, and conducting performance observations.
  • Provides administrative support to the human resources department, including new hire paperwork, contractor paperwork, and PAF.
  • Monitors budget through monthly financial statements and maintains spending within annual budget limits, participates in the development of the annual budget and half-yearly rebalance, and brings budgetary concerns and discrepancies to the Program Manager.
  • Responsible for the performance of program contracts, including spending within budgets, meeting outputs and outcomes, staffing, and recruitment.
  • Responsible for program curriculum, either by identifying an existing program curriculum or by developing new curriculum aligned with evidence-based practices or promising practices.
  • Responsible for the safety of program participants through ongoing risk management of safety processes, and alignment of program safety procedures with school safety procedures.
  • Participates in agency leadership by attending agency Supervisors Meetings or designated meetings, understanding and enforcing agency policies and processes, and making recommendations for improved program policies and processes.
  • Engages with the community to advocate for SUN programs and services.
  • Participates in agency committees.
  • Performs administrative tasks including organizing and facilitating meetings, drafting an annual work plan and budget, compiling and disseminating SUN information, and writing and submitting required reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
