About The Position

PKF O’Connor Davies' Summer Tax Internship Program offers students the opportunity to assist in providing quality tax services to the Firm’s clients. Summer Tax Interns work as a team member on diverse client engagements and receive real-world, hands-on experience, allowing them to explore a career in public accounting with PKF O’Connor Davies. Interns will conduct a research project which they will present to Firm leadership. They will also broaden their professional network by participating in community service and Firm-sponsored events. Interns are immersed in PKF O’Connor Davies culture from the beginning, assigned an Intern Adviser who assists them throughout their internship. Interns also receive training to grow and develop their skill set. This full-time, paid 8-week internship program starts mid-June and goes until mid-August. Contingent on performance, Interns have an opportunity to extend the internship on a part-time basis into the fall.

Requirements

Must have at least 75% of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting completed from an accredited university.
Good communication and computer skills.
Team players who are motivated to work in a fast-paced environment.
Customer-focused and able to multitask.
Must be able to commit a minimum of 20 hours per week.
Availability for weekend work when necessary.
Authorized to work in the United States.
Will not sponsor work visas.

Nice To Haves

Frequent local travel to clients and other PKFOD locations may be required.

Responsibilities

Develop relationships with clients and employees.
Become familiar with and adhere to the Firm's policies and procedures as they relate to being an efficient and professional team member.
Demonstrate knowledge of basic technical tax requirements.
Become proficient in scanning and preparing tax returns.
Develop a working knowledge of all microcomputer applications, which are routinely used.
