About The Position

This role provides summer support to Octopus's Garden and the Office of Sustainability. Responsibilities include garden maintenance such as watering, weeding, and planting. Additionally, the role involves data collection for the AASHE STARS report, administrative tasks, and strategic planning for the upcoming academic year. This position is up to 30 hours per week.

Requirements

• Must be comfortable working outdoors.
• Some physical labor included.
• Energy and initiative.
• Excellent organizational and communications skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite.
• Experience with Canva.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with and knowledge of gardening techniques and skill sets.

Responsibilities

• Watering, weeding, and planting schedules for Octopus's Garden.
• Coordinate with current Octopus’s Garden Associates to learn garden needs.
• Promote Octopus's Garden and Office of Sustainability social media.
• Communicate with dedicated members/leaders of Octopus's Garden for smooth transitions and preservation of practices.
• Effectively split time between garden and office responsibilities.
• Data collection and narrative writing for AASHE STARS report.
• Provide support for Office of Sustainability summer initiatives.
