About The Position

Ryder is currently seeking a motivated, dependable, and career-driven Summer Student – Service Employee to join our Maintenance team in St-Laurent, QC. This opportunity is ideal for students seeking hands-on experience within the transportation, fleet maintenance, and logistics industry. The successful candidate will support daily maintenance operations while gaining valuable exposure to commercial vehicle processes, shop operations, safety procedures, and facility support functions. Working alongside experienced maintenance professionals, this role provides an excellent foundation for individuals interested in pursuing long-term careers within transportation, mechanics, operations, or skilled trades.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in automotive, maintenance, warehouse, labour, or customer service environments considered an asset
  • Interest in transportation, mechanics, or fleet operations considered beneficial

Responsibilities

  • Wash, clean, and detail commercial vehicles to Ryder presentation standards
  • Support daily shop operations through facility organization and housekeeping activities
  • Assist with yard maintenance, painting, and general facility upkeep
  • Prepare and move vehicles safely within the facility and yard
  • Conduct basic vehicle inspections, including tire pressure checks and reporting visible maintenance concerns
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe working areas in accordance with Ryder safety standards
  • Support inventory organization and operational tasks assigned by maintenance leadership
  • Follow all company safety policies, operational procedures, and compliance standards
  • Contribute positively to a collaborative and team-oriented environment
