This position is for a summer student hydrology technician at Chatham University, focusing on data management and analysis of hydrologic data from the Fernow Experimental Forest. The role involves organizing and analyzing a large database of information such as temperature, conductivity, discharge, and pressure, using tools like Excel and R. The student will also be responsible for generating graphs and maps based on the data. Fieldwork is a component of the role, requiring travel to the site 2-4 times per month for data collection and equipment maintenance. There is an opportunity for the student to present their work at a professional conference in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027. Student employees are subject to specific work hour limitations, including not exceeding 20 hours per week during the academic year (across all campus jobs) and a maximum of 980 hours per calendar year. Student positions do not automatically renew.
