One Summer Student Housekeeper- 6271A Benjamin Road position available (Housekeeper #5350511 on Canada Summer Jobs), starting on June 04, 2026, and ending on August 28, 2026, working 37.5 hours per week. This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs program (CSJ.) CSJ is an initiative to help young people between the ages of 15 - 30, particularly those facing barriers to employment, to get the information and gain the skills, work experience, and abilities they need to transition successfully in the labour market.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of Grade 10 education or equivalent.
  • Must have the ability to communicate clearly with clients and staff.
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, problem solve, work independently and as part of a multi-service delivery team.
  • Capable of lifting cleaning equipment and supplies from floor level unassisted.
  • Must also possess an ability to relate will with people and a maturity level that indicates and ability to provide exemplary customer service.
  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada.
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Performs housekeeping duties in assigned facilities.
  • This position receives day to day direction and support from the Housekeeping Supervisor.
  • This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitized, safe and attractive environment in order to enhance the health and lives of clients and staff.
  • Works in alignment with the Agency’s commitment to equity to further create a sense of belonging at the Agency.
