About The Position

The Employer Services and Retention Support plays an essential role within Dixon Hall’s Employment and Placement Services team. In this position, you will assist the Employer Engagement team in understanding workplace expectations from employers, connecting clients with employers, and navigating their employment experience. You will work alongside Job Developers to coordinate onboarding and training processes for employers; conduct follow up communication with clients to retrieve employment related documentation and help address challenges that arise to promote sustained employment and positive outcomes. This role is central to Dixon Hall’s mission of helping individuals overcome barriers to employment. By supporting the engagement for employer relationships, clients in their employment retention, and facilitating access to community resources, the Employer Services and Retention Support directly contribute to meaningful employment outcomes and community well-being.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in human services, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working with clients from diverse cultural, social, and economic backgrounds, including newcomers and individuals facing employment barriers.
  • Strong relationship-building, networking, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and adapt to changing needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and willingness to learn new software tools.
  • High emotional intelligence, patience, and professionalism when working with clients and employers.
  • Be between 15-30 years of age, at the start of the funded position.
  • Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or someone to whom Refugee Status has been granted/conferred.
  • Have a valid SIN

Responsibilities

  • Support in organizing hiring events, workshops, and employer guest sessions for client engagement and employer awareness.
  • Under the guidance of the employer engagement team, support the hiring, onboarding, and retention of clients from diverse backgrounds, including newcomers and individuals facing barriers to employment.
  • Track employer engagement, placement outcomes, and recruitment activities to support program reporting and objectives.
  • Assist the team to conduct workplace visits to ensure a safe and supportive environment for clients.
  • Follow up with client's post-placement to monitor progress, retrieve employment related documentations, address challenges, and provide guidance for long-term job retention.
  • Collaborate with community partners, agencies, and local resources to share information and raise awareness about employment programs and supports.
  • Participate in community events and local events to expand networks and strengthen employer and client engagement.
