About The Position

Visiting Angels' office in Naperville is seeking one-of-a-kind individuals for job opportunities with their local team. The office in Naperville provides caregivers for the local area including Aurora, Lombard, Wheaton, Lisle, Downers Grove, Carol Stream, Warrenville, Winfield, and many others. They are seeking individuals who are truly committed to providing compassionate care to senior adults and those in need. This role is a chance to do some real good for families in Naperville and the surrounding area by becoming a companion to someone in need. A Summer Seasonal Caregiver supports the seniors they serve with a wide range of responsibilities from light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation to one-on-one mobility support, assisting with maintaining personal hygiene by bathing, brushing their hair and teeth or applying skincare. This is also an opportunity for personal growth, with the chance for advanced training in areas like dementia care or Alzheimer’s care.

Requirements

No Experience Required
MUST be willing to learn
Passion for seniors and people with disabilities
Willingness to assist clients with personal care and hygiene, including but not limited bathing assistance, brushing hair and teeth, or applying skincare
Must be willing to learn
Passion to serve others - a true caregiver
Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid
Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
Respectful and compassionate
Good time management skills
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
Strong ethics
Physical endurance
High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

Advanced training in areas like dementia care or Alzheimer’s care

Responsibilities

Help clients take prescribed medication
Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.)
Must be willing to assist clients with personal care and hygiene, including but not limited bathing assistance, brushing hair and teeth, or applying skincare
Help clients with routine exercises
Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop
Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own
Be a pleasant and supportive companion
Report any unusual incidents
Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
