About The Position

Summer School positions are dependent on Student enrollment. Provide support to the educational process with specific focus on instructional and mentoring practices. This includes maintaining a positive learning environment, where all students are encouraged to participate, ask questions and generally receive the individual attention they deserve to effectively learn the material in a lesson plan.

Requirements

• Must meet the current RI Department of Education requirements and or certifications.
• Authorized to work in the USA

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with the ALEKS learning platform, including proficiency in managing assignments, monitoring progress, and supporting implementation.
• Knowledge of curriculum design, lesson planning, and pedagogy, experience preferred.
• Experience in innovative, problem based instruction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teaches content and skills in school Mathematics.
• Manage student learning in accordance with the goals of the District.
• Implement lesson plans, while ensuring the integrity of academic time and in a manner which motivates students to learn and participate.
• Organize students for effective instruction.
• Ensure the adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students.
• Maintain and respect confidentiality of student and school personnel information.
• Comply with and support school and District regulations and policies.
• Must be able to follow oral and written directions and have the ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and students.
• Ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies.
