Summer School Cooking Teacher
About The Position
Join LIFT Enrichment as a Chef Teacher! We are looking for passionate individuals to teach healthy culinary workshops in Title I school districts. Since 2010, we have taught over 75,000 students and are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team of over 200 Chef Teachers. This role offers rewarding work by helping students learn essential life skills, great pay that compensates for grocery shopping, prep, teaching, and cleanup, and perks such as paid training and mileage reimbursement. This is a seasonal/part-time employment opportunity, ideal for retired teachers or college students.
Requirements
- Availability between 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM or 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM, 2-4 days a week.
- Experience working with children (e.g., summer camp counselor, retired teacher).
- Cooking experience (basic meals; no formal or professional chef experience required).
- Reliable transportation.
Responsibilities
- Teach healthy culinary workshops in Title I school districts.
- Lead groups of 15–20 students.
- Transport provided culinary kits.
- Teach recipes from the curriculum, such as Black Bean Quesadillas and Crispy Chicken Tenders.
- Manage grocery shopping, prep, teaching, and cleanup.
