About The Position

The T own of Cohasset is seeking a full-time Summer Program Nurse in the R ecreation D epartment . Reporting to the T own’s P ublic H ealth N urse and R ecreation D irector, the r ecreation p rogram n urse is a seasonal position available at our Cohasset r ecreation s ummer p layground c ampus located in Cohasset, MA. Our caring and enthusiastic nurse is the health manager for Cohasset r ecreation and oversees health and cleanliness standards. 2026 Summer Program Dates Monday, June 29 th through Friday, August 7 Session 1 June 29 th through July 17 th – Mon-Fri Session 2 July 20 th through August 7 th – Mon-Fri Orientation Mandatory – week of June 22 nd Description of Responsibilities: Oversees the health and wellness of 400-500 campers each day (ages 5 to 14/ co-ed) and up to 100 staff members and volunteers. Reviews all camper/ staff medical information, including age-appropriate immunization requirements, according to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health . Communicates with parents/guardians concerning any health issues and oversees any specific situations. Administer EPI-Pen training, management, and proper storage . Reviews and recommends the purchase and storage of first aid supplies and equipment . Reviews daily first aid/injury reports and communicates with parents if necessary.

Requirements

  • LPN, RN, or RN with BSN
  • Experience with children and young adults is required, camp experience is preferred.
  • Ability to originate, update, and/or monitor health care, maintain records, and implement the health care plan is .
  • The ability to provide guidance, supervision , and engage with children enthusiastically is .
  • The ability to assist campers in emergencies , including fire, evacuation, illness , or injury is .
  • Good character, integrity , and adaptability are necessary .
  • The desire to work in a recreational community is essential.
  • Current CPR, AED , and First Aid certifications
  • 2 to 3 years of nursing experience working with children
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Provide proof of current license and professional nurse’s malpractice insurance
