About The Position

Assists in the operation and supervision of the Recreation Summer Program in the capacity of full-time, temporary assistant. Job Specifications 1. A high school diploma or GED equivalency is required. 2. Prior experience in youth recreation activities is preferred. 3. Lifeguard certification strongly preferred. 4. Must be proficient in the use and operation of general recreational equipment. 5. Computer knowledge is preferred. 6. Must possess exceptional time management and detail-orientation skills. 7. Must be at least 18 years of age. 8. Must possess a valid driver’s license 9. Availability for travel as needed. JOB-SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Duties: 1. Exhibits regular and punctual attendance. 2. Under supervision, assists in operating a total recreation program for residents. 3. Assists in providing direction for residents participating with the Youth Activities Department and in recreation sponsored activities. 4. Assists in compliance with all internal and external regulations regarding recreation activities. 5. Communicates on a regular basis with the Director, Youth Activities. (Including requirements and documents for academic credit review.) 6. Assists with maintaining inventory of supplies. 7. Ensures that all equipment assigned is properly utilized and maintained. 8.
