About The Position

This role involves providing support in a summer program, focusing on the care and supervision of young children. Requirements

  • Experience working with young children.

  • Understanding of hygiene practices for young children.
  • Adherence to ethical conduct standards (NAEYC).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a summer program setting.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Escorts, assists, and instructs children in practicing healthy hygiene habits.
  • Assists children in self-select activities.
  • Helps with diaper changes as needed, supervises bathrooms, or supervises the class.
  • Assists with mealtime set up and clean up and serves meals using family style dining.
  • Assists children to get ready to go outside and supervises playground.
  • Helps with nap time including calming, settling, rocking, and monitoring nappers.
  • Organizes shelves and picks up toys quietly during nap time.
  • Helps put away and set up cots for nap.
  • Performs sanitizing of classroom toys and surfaces and routine hygiene care.
  • Aids in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all children.
  • Adheres to the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct and Statement of Commitment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
