About The Position

While working as lifeguards, summer pool and camp specialists are responsible for implementing all water safety policies and procedures while attentively supervising members and guests in and around the swimming pools at the Pavilion. They ensure the safety of all individuals by enforcing rules, administering care, and maintaining operational standards. While working in our Kid’s Camp program, they facilitate daily activities, implement programming, and ensure guest satisfaction and compliance with rules and procedures.

Requirements

  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Must provide valid high school approved work permit at time of onboarding.
  • Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
  • Current Lifeguard, CPR/AED and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Bloodborne Pathogen safety training, Harassment Prevention Training, Workplace Violence Prevention, Heat Illness Prevention and other state and company mandated trainings.
  • Criminal background check is required.
  • Decisiveness: Ability to make quick and sound decisions during emergencies or challenging situations.
  • Confidence: Exhibit confidence when enforcing rules or addressing safety concerns with members or guests.
  • Professionalism: Maintain composure under pressure while representing the Club’s values through respectful communication and behavior.
  • Accountability: Take ownership of pool operations and ensure compliance with all safety standards without compromise.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with children, youth programming, youth activity camp facilitation, lifeguard, swim instructor or similar is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safety Supervision: Oversee swimmers at all times to ensure their safety and enforce pool conduct rules with firmness and consistency.
  • Emergency Response: Administer care for minor injuries such as cuts or bruises promptly and confidently; escalate emergencies as necessary.
  • Operational Leadership: Prepare the pool deck for daily operations by organizing safety equipment systematically; ensure proper storage at closure.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate records related to pool operations, incidents, and first aid supplies inventory.
  • Concentration and focus on weekly on-site Youth Summer Camp programming, with the age groups of 4 to 15 divided into age-appropriate groups.
  • Will participate directly in other Member Engagement programs to represent the Youth component and activity.
  • Maintains a safe environment for children attending daily Youth Summer camp programming.
  • Maintains an attractive, orderly appearance in the facility.
  • Organizes and conducts fun, entertaining, and educational activities for the children.
  • Addresses concerns and kindly interprets policies and rules for parents.
  • Ensures that policies and rules of the facility are enforced by supervision of the children and fellow staff members.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies and prepares requisitions for supplies and equipment for Youth Summer camps.
  • Ensures receipt of payment and proper paperwork is complete before daily camp drop-off’s.
  • Evaluates the integrity and organization of program equipment and informs Supervisor of any wear or loss.
  • Properly reports accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Will report any injury to the parents of the participant.
  • Addresses complaints and resolves problems.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  • Attends staff meetings.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the Guest Service and Reservations Manager, Supervisory team, fellow lifeguards, and other team members to ensure seamless operations.
  • Training & Development: Attend all scheduled trainings and meetings to stay updated on safety protocols and operational procedures.
  • Additional Tasks: Perform other tasks as assigned by management that align with the fluctuating demands of the Club’s operations.
