Position Summary The Summer Pharmacy Intern in will support Market Access i nitiatives within Eisai, a biopharmaceutical organization. This twelve (12) week internship is designed to provide a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) student with hands-on exposure to how clinical, economic, access, and patient support data are generated, analyzed, and applied to improve patient access and outcomes in oncology , neurology, and specialty care. The intern will work cross-functionally with Patient Services, Medical Affairs, Market Access, HEOR & RWE, and other internal stakeholders to support projects related to patient access, reimbursement support programs, real-world data/pharmacoeconomics, and value communication.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited College of Pharmacy (PharmD program), preferably having completed at least one professional year
  • Strong interest in health economics, outcomes research, market access, oncology, or patient services
  • Ability to analyze information and summarize findings clearly and concisely
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player who can work cross-functionally in a complex organizational structure and is eager to learn
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and other technology skills
  • Work in-person at the Company’s New Jersey office Tuesday through Thursday every week on a full-time basis during the 12-week internship.

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or experience related to health economics, epidemiology, biostatistics, managed care, or outcomes research
  • Interest in oncology, neurology or specialty pharmaceuticals
  • Familiarity with U.S. healthcare reimbursement concepts (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance)
  • Prior internship, research, or project experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical settings

Responsibilities

  • Assist with literature reviews related to health economics, outcomes research, and real-world evidence in oncology , neurology and specialty disease areas
  • Contribute to the development of internal summaries, slide decks, and dashboards that communicate clinical and economic value
  • Observe and support HEOR strategy discussions related to late-stage pipeline or marketed products
  • Assist in assessing field insights and evidence gaps for communication to internal stakeholders
  • Assist team’s evaluation of patient services programs such as reimbursement support, co-pay assistance, and patient assistance programs
  • Assist with tracking and summarizing program utilization metrics and operational performance indicators
  • Assist team’s development of educational or training materials related to coverage, coding, reimbursement, and patient access pathways
  • Observe how patient services strategies align with payer requirements and compliance standards
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings with Patient Services, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Legal, and Compliance teams
  • Assist in preparing internal business updates and presentations for stakeholders
  • Gain exposure to how pharmaceutical teams collaborate to support product access while maintaining regulatory and compliance standards
