About The Position

One of the crucial components for first year FLI students is Pre-Orientation programming. Student assistants are needed to develop and facilitate programming for pre-orientation programs for first-generation to college and low/limited income first year students. The summer assistants will also assist with the development and implementation of training for peer mentors who will also work with first year FLI students. This is a 14-week position for 30 hours per week The assistants will be responsible for paying their own housing fees during summer employment period Please submit a cover letter explaining why you believe that you are good fit for the position and the skills you bring. Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Help plan and coordinate the Pre-Orientation program for incoming FLI students
  • Develop a training program for FLI Program Assistants
  • Coordinate outreach and info sessions for admitted first-year FLI students
  • Work on projects as assigned; projects could include work websites, PowerPoint presentations, Word documents, databases in Excel
  • Help create a calendar of events for the academic year- outlining objectives and stakeholders
  • Selected candidates must be available from Aug. 27- Sept. 2 to participate in Pre-O activities
  • Perform additional duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice
