About The Position

Williams lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons at the Samuelson Muir Pool by preventing and responding to emergencies both in and out of the water. Duties and Responsibilities include maintaining constant surveillance of patrons in the facility, acting immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of patrons in the event of emergency, providing emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services, presenting a professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintaining a high standard of customer service. They will also perform various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility, perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned, and attend and participate in staff in-services (one per semester).

Requirements

• Must present current certification (American Red Cross Certification or equivalent) for the following: CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, Lifeguard Training & First Aid
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
• Skill in the application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques
• Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork
• Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures
• Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions
• Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures

Nice To Haves

• Prior work experience as a pool, waterfront, or water park lifeguard
