The individual in this position must be a full-time High School or College student at least 16 years of age. Employees of this class may be assigned to any bureau for any amount of time at the discretion of the City. This position is non-exempt. This position is considered seasonal for the summer months. Workers in this class shall only work in the months from May – August. Working under the direct supervision of the Supervisors of the bureaus to which this position is assigned and/or the Department Director, a person in this class will perform of a variety manual labor, unskilled and semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance and operation of buildings, grounds, open spaces, parks and recreation systems within the Public Works Department. A person in this position will use and maintain various types of manual and automated equipment and small automotive or motorized equipment and power tools. Employees in this position are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of assigned equipment to provide a variety of services to the citizens of the City.
