About The Position

Aquilini Development & Construction is proud to introduce the Musqueam, Squamish & Tsleil-Waututh (MST) Summer Internship Program, which offers meaningful, hands-on work experience for students from the MST Nations through structured rotational placements across the organization. This summer internship provides exposure to key business functions through a challenging and rewarding rotation-based model. Interns will gain practical insight into daily operations, leadership approaches, and real-world challenges across departments, with each rotation lasting approximately two weeks. The program is ideal for students seeking broad experience in areas such as Development, Construction, Safety, Marketing, Finance, Customer Care, and Administration. Interns will also be paired with an Indigenous mentor who will offer guidance and support throughout the program.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or considering enrollment in a post-secondary program; relevant education or lived experience in construction, business, marketing, finance, engineering, or related fields is an asset.
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or a willingness to learn.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage tasks and deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, recognizing that communication styles may vary.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with care and respect.
  • Curiosity, openness to learning, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-identifying member of the Musqueam, Squamish, or Tsleil-Waututh Nation.
  • Interest in real estate development or curiosity about the industry is welcomed.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a rotational summer internship program, completing approximately two-week rotations across departments including Development, Construction, Safety, Marketing, Finance, Customer Care, and Administration.
  • Support day-to-day activities within each department, assisting with administrative, coordination, and project-based tasks.
  • Help organize and maintain project documents, logs, schedules, and reports using tools such as Excel, MS Project, and internal systems.
  • Participate in month-end corporate accounting activities by gathering support for audit/compliance tasks and learn about proforma modelling and building out “practice” proformas.
  • Support sales and marketing initiatives, such as social media content, email campaigns, and branded materials.
  • Assist with construction coordination, including scheduling, tracking project updates, attending site meetings, and recording notes.
  • Support site safety activities by assisting with inspections, toolbox talks, and safety documentation.
  • Assist the Customer Care team by responding to inquiries, updating CRM systems, and supporting post-construction and warranty processes.
  • Assist the Development team with the preparation of RFPs, contracts, meeting minutes, file management, obtaining permits, policy and site research, consultant administration, project reporting and data collection.
  • Learn from and collaborate with team members and leaders across the organization, gaining exposure to real-world business operations.
  • Maintain professionalism, attention to detail, and flexibility while adapting to different teams and responsibilities.
