About The Position

Evonik's Summer Professional Enrichment (SPE) Program is a 12-week internship program designed for undergraduate students to gain real-world experience and expand their knowledge beyond their university studies. Interns will apply their academic skills to technical projects and gain experience working on cross-functional teams for regional group projects. Opportunities are available across the United States in fields such as manufacturing/operations, and environmental health & safety. The program aims to help students identify work settings and locations that align with their career aspirations. Previous intern projects have included process engineering, research and development of polymer coatings, and production engineering tasks. Interns will also have opportunities to meet executives, learn about Evonik's business portfolio, and network with peers through a virtual series. Participation in Employee Resource Groups is also encouraged for professional development and to contribute to an inclusive and innovative culture.

Requirements

Must be pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemistry.
Must have the ability to relocate anywhere in the US.
Authorization to work in the US without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Work on meaningful and practical projects.
Apply skills acquired through education to a technical project.
Gain experience working on a cross-functional team for a regional group project.
Contribute to the startup activities of a new chemical process (example).
Update procedures, redline P&IDs, and create Gantt charts (example).
Engage in the development of polymer coatings (example).
Review and redline technical drawings (example).
Meet executives from Evonik’s North American Leadership Team (NALT).
Learn more about Evonik’s business portfolio.
Network with peers through a virtual Let’s Connect Series.
Join an Employee Resource Group to connect with like-minded individuals and enhance professional development.
