About The Position

Raymond James is seeking interns for its Equity Research department. This internship offers a comprehensive experience in investment banking, focusing on providing trusted advice and tailored strategies. The program emphasizes associate development and growth through developmental programs, mentorships, and continuing education. Interns will engage with the firm's core values and guiding behaviors, participating in orientation, training sessions, networking events, and volunteer opportunities. The goal is to equip interns with business knowledge and skills for their future careers. Successful interns may have the opportunity to transition into full-time roles after graduation. The Equity Research department provides independent analysis of publicly traded companies and industries to help clients make informed investment decisions. Interns will gain hands-on experience in financial modeling, market trend evaluation, and supporting research projects alongside experienced analysts. The department fosters a collaborative culture that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and continuous learning, offering students a unique opportunity to deepen their understanding of financial markets and develop valuable skills.

Requirements

  • Junior standing (December 2027 - May 2028 graduates) pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in finance, accounting, Economics, data analytics or related field with a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher.
  • Knowledge of fundamentals of accounting, finance, and equity valuation methodologies.
  • Knowledge of financial statement analysis and interpretation.
  • Knowledge of financial markets, equity securities, and key market drivers.
  • Knowledge of basic concepts, practices, and procedures of a professional office environment and the Equity Research function.
  • Skill in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Skill in research, data gathering, and analytical problem solving.
  • Skill in written and verbal communication, including the ability to summarize information clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements, identify trends, and explain key variances.
  • Ability to conduct company, industry, and market research using available data sources and online research tools.
  • Ability to prepare concise summaries of conference calls, research findings, and market developments.
  • Ability to create charts, graphs, and presentation materials to support research reports and recommendations.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with analysts, associates, and team members.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional working relationships while demonstrating strong attention to detail and a high level of professionalism.
  • Eligible applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US and not require visa sponsorship now or in the future (including beyond OPT/EAD).
