Forward Edge-AI is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer Intern to support research, integration, and testing efforts within our Advanced Research & Development team. This role is ideal for a senior undergraduate or graduate student interested in RF systems, communications technologies, and system integration. The intern will work alongside cross-functional engineering teams to develop test plans, support system integration, analyze performance data, and contribute to documentation and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Currently a senior undergraduate or Master’s student in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience working with software-defined radios (SDR)
  • Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, or MATLAB
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Analytical mindset with interest in systems integration and process optimization
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to RF systems, signal processing, or communications engineering
  • Experience with testing and integration of hardware/software systems
  • Familiarity with lab equipment or simulation tools
  • Interest in defense, communications, or advanced technology systems

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of integration and test plans for RF and communications systems
  • Assist in configuring and testing software-defined radio (SDR) platforms
  • Participate in system-level integration activities across hardware and software components
  • Analyze test data and system performance results
  • Translate findings into clear reports, presentations, and actionable recommendations
  • Support performance evaluation and optimization efforts
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, and systems engineering teams
  • Help define interface requirements and resolve integration challenges
  • Support troubleshooting and validation efforts across system components
  • Document key processes, procedures, and test results with high accuracy
  • Support development of technical documentation and integration workflows
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvement and optimization
