About The Position

This internship offers a "hands-on" experience in a global financial institution, providing an opportunity to enhance future career prospects. Interns will work alongside senior bankers and contribute to projects and assignments, gaining exposure to industry expertise within various related products. The role involves researching, collecting, and analyzing data for initiatives, thereby increasing knowledge and skills to better prepare for a career in finance or banking. Summer interns work on current, real-world projects and initiatives with their teams.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate college student, graduating in 2028 in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, engineering, or related field.
  • Graduate students may also be considered for certain roles.
  • Liberal arts majors interested in careers in finance and banking are welcome to apply.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, and especially Excel)
  • Enthusiastic and highly focused individual
  • High level of performance motivation, and eagerness to learn
  • Strong multi-tasking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility and stress resilience, ability to deliver high quality work within tight deadlines
  • Initiative to understand different products and contribute across the organization
  • Openness to diverse work experience and perspectives within CMA
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to express ideas in a persuasive, organized, and articulate manner

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship and/or relevant financial experience preferred.
  • Financial modeling and credit writing exposure are helpful, but not required.
  • VBA and/or programming skills are a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Assist CMA professionals with analyzing market data, comparables and trends, to provide guidance on pricing and structures for a variety of new transaction scenarios (leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, refinancings, repricings, etc.)
  • Prepare materials to assist in obtaining underwriting approvals
  • Assist in the preparation of transaction marketing materials
  • Prepare market research presentations
  • Manage departmental reporting and record keeping
  • Present thoughtful recommendations and analyses within and across teams
