About The Position

Courier Newsroom is offering a Summer Internship Program for current college and university students. The program runs from June 2026 through August 2026, with flexibility for school obligations. Interns will assist in shaping outreach to Gen Z and local communities, collaborate on problem-solving initiatives, and gain real-world experience in digital media. They will work closely with reporters, contribute to local news coverage, and engage audiences through various digital platforms, including video production, graphic design, and digital newsletters.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
• At least 18 years old.
• Commit to a minimum of 12 weeks of internship with an end date of August 31, 2026.
• Be fully remote/virtual.
• Work 15-20 hours per week.
• Reside in the state corresponding to their assigned newsroom.
• Strong proficiency in Google Workspace and major social media platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to problem-solve and multitask effectively.
• Initiative, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
• Flexibility and creativity in adapting to shifting priorities.
• Interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Professionalism and innovation in approach.

Responsibilities

• Assist in shaping outreach to Gen Z and local communities.
• Collaborate with newsrooms on innovative problem-solving initiatives.
• Work closely with Courier reporters.
• Contribute to local news coverage.
• Engage audiences through various digital platforms.
• Gain hands-on experience in video production, graphic design, and digital newsletters.
