About The Position

The Versant Summer Internship Program provides students with foundational skills, meaningful project contributions, and exposure to how a modern media organization operates. Interns work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and gain hands-on experience, mentorship, networking, structured onboarding, and professional development. All internships are paid.

This opportunity supports MS NOW, a news organization reaching audiences across cable, online, social media, and audio platforms. Potential placements include MS NOW Newsgathering; Digital, Audio & Longform; Social Media; Content Strategy; Dayside Production; Weekend News Program; Primetime; Production Operations; Creative Operations & Graphics; and Brand Marketing.

The program runs June 7 through August 13, 2027, with a commitment of 40 hours per week. The exact schedule will be determined based on business need. This opportunity is on-site at the New York, NY location. The hourly pay range is $19.00–$25.00.

Requirements

• Be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution throughout the program, or have a graduation date in Spring 2027; applicants who graduated in 2026 or earlier are not eligible.
• Have a current class standing of sophomore or above, with at least 30 credits.
• Be available to work 40 hours per week from June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027.
• Be willing to work on-site at the New York, NY office.
• Be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and not require work visa sponsorship from VERSANT now or in the future.
• Be able to provide a current transcript to confirm enrollment; unofficial transcripts are accepted.
• Provide an active Social Security number and complete an I-9 form with that number within three days of hire if offered an internship.

Nice To Haves

• Class standing of junior or above.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Strong interest in the media industry.
• Previous internship experience.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to meaningful projects as part of the Versant internship program.
• Support work in an assigned MS NOW area, which may include newsgathering, digital, audio and longform, social media, content strategy, program production, production operations, creative operations and graphics, or brand marketing.
• Participate in hands-on learning, onboarding, professional development, mentorship, and networking opportunities.
