About The Position

CF Private Equity, an affiliate of asset management firm Commonfund, focuses on diversifying portfolios with private investments in buyouts, growth equity, venture capital, and real assets and sustainability strategies. They combine the scale of a global asset manager with the flexibility of a boutique, accessing leading managers and constructing global portfolios through primaries, secondaries, and co-investments, with a focus on smaller, growing companies. Their experienced investors and professional staff of over 60 serve over 800 investors, managing over $25.4 billion of private capital commitments. The Buyouts and Growth Equity Team specifically constructs dynamic portfolios including primaries and co-investments, focusing on the small to middle market across the U.S. and Europe & other international markets, seeking managers that are capacity-constrained or difficult to access. This is a 10-week internship position starting in the summer of 2027, with the possibility of a full-time offer upon graduation. The role involves working on both primary fund investments and co-investments.

Requirements

  • Juniors with a strong GPA
  • 1+ years of relevant course work (Accounting, Finance, Business Management, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills, including use of Microsoft Office Excel for quantitative analysis
  • Ability to complete assignments independently and on a timely basis
  • Ability to work as part of a team to accomplish broader goals and objectives
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Support the investment due diligence process by participating in investment diligence calls, gathering and synthesizing data and information for investment analysis, and assisting the team in preparing memos and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform comprehensive market research and analysis to identify and assess potential investment opportunities in the buyouts & growth equity markets.
  • Monitor industry news, research reports, and regulatory changes to provide valuable insights to the team.
  • Work closely with investment professionals and other CF Private Equity investment teams to support deal execution and investment decision-making.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share information, insights, and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of investment transactions, documents, and correspondence.
  • Special projects as assigned.
