About The Position

There are two conditional temporary student internship opportunities available at RMLD for the Summer of 2026. Each is an on-site position located at 230 Ash Street, Reading, MA 01867. The intern positions are assigned specific work hours that differ according to the needs and demands of each division. Please review the following descriptions. CUSTOMER SERVICE, IRD DIVISION INTERN Hours: Monday-Thursday 7:30AM to 5:30PM The Customer Service Intern assists with the day-to-day support the Customer Service Team provides. The position is in a fast-paced environment and requires organizational skills, a professional demeanor, ability to multi-task and prioritize, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate information appropriately and sometimes under difficult situations. MARKETING, IRD DIVISION INTERN Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Hours may be available to flex and may include hours for events in the evening or weekends as determined by the Marketing Manager. The marketing intern assists the RMLD marketing team with day-to-day activities to engage our customers, promote RMLD programs, and inspire energy efficiency and electrification. The marketing intern will support the marketing team in executing marketing strategies across various channels, including in-person events, traditional and social media, email, and web. Responsibilities

Performing complete customer service and support duties to meet evolving customer demands.
Addressing and reaching resolution on customer inquiries.
Assisting with maintenance of the front counter by processing payments and handling customer inquiries using RMLD's CRM and billing software.
Assisting in managing the reception area to ensure effective in-person, telephone, and mail communications both internally and externally.
Retrieving daily mail off site and distributing/coordinating incoming and outgoing mail packages accordingly.
Market Research: Gathering and analyzing data on consumer preferences, competitors, and like utilities, and market trends to inform marketing strategies. Tracking earned media mentions.
Social Media Monitoring: Tracking and reporting on social media performance metrics, providing insights to optimize engagement.
Administrative Support: Performing general clerical tasks including but not limited to updating or maintaining marketing materials, organizing files and digital/image libraries, performing partner or customer outreach, ordering supplies, and creating or updating in-office displays.
Event Planning: Acting as key contact and providing planning and execution support for two large scale events.
Content Creation: Creating engaging content for social media, and promotional materials, including photo and video assets to add to the RMLD digital library.
Additional duties designated by the RMLD marketing team.
Understand the overall concept of the company, our purpose, including the needs of our service.
Work within their particular division's responsibilities and provide ideas to grow and improve the business.
Accept designated, business-focus projects to research, propose ideas and solutions, and may be asked to present final project during the internship.
Engage with customers (internal and external) or vendors and provide service.
Provide suggestions to management for improving customer service and internal processes.
Learn and become proficient on internal software systems.
