About The Position

With its A.I.-powered robotic technology platform, Symbotic is changing the way consumer goods move through the supply chain. Intelligent software orchestrates advanced robots in a high-density, end-to-end system – reinventing warehouse automation for increased efficiency, speed and flexibility. What we need Symbotic is seeking a hands-on Learning Program Architect to define and scale the curriculum architecture that empowers our customer and field learning ecosystem in a fast-moving robotics environment. As a player-coach role you will be responsible for translating complex technical documentation into structured, role-based learning pathways and enabling teams to build high-quality, performance-driven learning experiences. You will operate at the intersection of documentation, instructional design, and customer enablement ensuring our learning programs are aligned, scalable, and impactful. You will directly support and guide Instructional Designers and content contributors, while also stepping in hands-on to shape and build learning solutions where needed. If you’ve built curriculum frameworks in SaaS, robotics, AI, or other rapidly evolving technical environments—and enjoy both architecting systems and rolling up your sleeves to build—this role is for you. Position reports to Director, Field Training. What we do The Field Learning COE is a part of the Human Resource organization which defines and scales the learning ecosystem that powers customer and field enablement. By integrating curriculum architecture, content development, and field feedback loops, it ensures training is aligned, consistent, and directly tied to performance and business impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Technical Communication, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in learning design, curriculum development, or technical training within high-tech or operational environments.
  • Experience managing a small team.
  • Experience designing structured, role-based learning programs and organizing content into clear, scalable learning pathways.
  • Proven ability to work with technical or operational documentation and translate it into effective training frameworks and content.
  • Strong foundation in instructional design principles and modern learning approaches (e.g., blended learning, modular content, performance-based learning).
  • Experience collaborating with or guiding instructional designers, content developers, or technical writers; prior informal leadership or project ownership is a plus.
  • Comfort operating both strategically and hands-on, contributing directly to content design and development when needed.
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms (e.g., Docebo, Workday Learning) and modern authoring tools.
  • Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
  • The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to emerging learning technologies (e.g., AI-enabled workflows, AR/VR) is a plus.
  • Experience supporting global or multi-language training programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain scalable curriculum architecture, including role-based learning pathways, certification structures, and content frameworks.
  • Translate source-of-truth technical and operational documentation into structured learning journeys that enable performance in the field.
  • Establish clear “curriculum buckets” and content models that enable modular, reusable, and scalable learning development.
  • Partner closely with Instructional Designers to operationalize curriculum into high-quality learning experiences across eLearning, ILT, and performance support.
  • Guide and review instructional design work to ensure alignment with curriculum architecture, consistency, and quality standards.
  • Identify gaps in documentation and training and partner with documentation and product teams to close them.
  • Contribute hands-on to content design and development (e.g., outlining, structuring, prototyping learning solutions) as needed.
  • Evaluate and implement learning strategies, tools, and technologies that improve scalability, speed, and effectiveness.
  • Support the development of certification programs and training models that align to customer needs and potential revenue opportunities.
  • Partner cross-functionally across Product, Customer Success, Engineering, and Marketing to align learning with business goals.
