Jumpstart Teacher Temporary Summer Learning Program (2619)
About The Position
Teachers are needed to support Hamlin Jumpstart (kindergarten students) at Rochester Community Schools. Applications for these temporary positions will be accepted until they are filled. Teachers will be expected to implement innovative instructional techniques that will lead to improved student achievement. Emphasis will be given to higher-level thinking skills, organizational skills, integrating knowledge, connecting learning to prior knowledge, cooperative learning, learner active participation, and technology integration. A summary of what was covered in the program will be shared with parents via written progress reports on the program's last day. Brief anecdotal summaries will also be provided for the fall classroom teacher. The actual number of positions depends on enrollment. Hamlin Elementary August 12 th Hours: 8:00 am - 11:00 am August 13th Hours: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm Student hours: 8:30am - 11:00am Interviews will be held at the end of April by the building administrator.
Requirements
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
- Desire to work with at-risk students.
- Willingness to work with students who need to be academically challenged.
- Must be available to work the entire length of the program.
