About The Position

Boys & Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley seeks a dynamic STEM (Code + Create) Specialist to join our summer program team! As a key member of our STEM curriculum implementation team, you will plan, lead, and teach coding, digital arts, and computer literacy activities to youth ages 6–18. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, tech-savvy, and excited to foster a fun, engaging, and supportive learning environment focused on building future-ready STEM skills. This part-time summer internship opportunity is ideal for college students, aspiring educators, or early-career STEM professionals.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience teaching or facilitating in technology-related or STEM fields.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and computer skills (Microsoft Office, MS 365, Google).
• Ability to learn and lead lessons using new technology platforms and curricula.
• CPR and First Aid certified (or ability to obtain certification).
• A negative TB test and background check clearance are required.
• Reliable transportation to multiple club locations.
• Available to work afternoon shifts (typically 3:00–6:00 pm).

Nice To Haves

• Fluent Spanish language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate engaging STEM learning experiences for youth aligned with our "Everyone Can Code" and "Everyone Can Create" curricula.
• Lead coding, robotics, digital arts, and computer literacy classes using iPads, MacBooks, and Apple apps.
• Plan, prepare, and implement lesson plans and public showcases of student work.
• Create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
• Track student progress, administer surveys, and contribute to program improvement efforts.
• Manage classrooms effectively to ensure quality instruction and member safety.
• Plan and organize materials and resources needed for activities.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver impactful programs.
• Assist with special events and other duties as assigned.
