About The Position

As a Software Engineering Intern for the SiriusXM Connect organization, you will be working with experienced engineers developing new products & functionality in our POC funnel as part of our initiative to expand services into new verticals and drive growth into new markets. As part of your internship you will be assigned a mentor and an exciting project that you will help drive from inception to delivery. You will learn modern software and cloud development in a supportive environment and gain experience in creating, & deploying new services. The ideal candidate will be someone who is passionate about learning new technologies and best practices, working with highly collaborative engineering teams, delivering high quality products and striving to develop solutions to complex problems at high scale. The ideal candidate will value collaboration and teamwork and believe in trust, transparency, and kindness.

Requirements

  • Internships are open to current students enrolled at a university (those graduating by May 2027 are preferred) and recent graduates who graduated within the 12-month period prior to the start of the internship.
  • Majors in computer science or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in software or cloud development - work projects, internships, summer jobs, etc.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Scala, Swift, Kotlin, JavaScript or Python.
  • You must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have a legal right to work in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly as part of an engineering team that delivers new features and functionality with high quality and robust architecture which support SiriusXM Connect.
  • Innovate to build performant solutions that continue to scale to the increasing demands of the business.
  • Strive to develop simple solutions to complex problems, constantly seek ways to improve at every iteration, make suggestions for improvements.
  • Participate in architecture and technical discussions.
  • Learn and operate in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
  • Build cloud-based solutions leveraging AWS (components such as S3, Lambda, ECS, Dynamo, etc)
  • Use source control systems (Git and GitHub) and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) to continuously deploy applications to production.

Benefits

  • We expect the base salary for this position to be $37-40/hr and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
  • Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives.
