About The Position
As a PE Development Lab intern, you will contribute to the development of technical products and systems. You will report to the Structures & Fuel Assem Prod Design Manager and be at our Columbia, SC facility. This is a paid full-time onsite position for the summer, May - August 2027.
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- Completed Sophomore year of college
Responsibilities
- Work with a team of engineers and technicians to test and analyze the performance of new fuel designs
- Apply engineering principles and engineering codes & standards, such as ASME and ANSI, to the design and evaluation of systems
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Help resolve technical issues for operating and new (i.e., AP1000) nuclear power plants
- Support engineers in the development of calculations and reports to document design and analysis results
- Learn new engineering topics through participation in technical seminars
- Work with engineers within and outside of the United States
