About The Position
Illinois CancerCare has a student summer intern position available in the Marketing department. Interested students will work up to 20 hours per week for 6 to 8 weeks. Our summer internship program is designed to give high school, undergraduate and medical school students a chance to gain experience in a healthcare facility.
Requirements
- Seeking senior level college student with an interest/major in graphic design, marketing, and/or communications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe, Illustrator, Canva.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires the ability to distinguish and transcribe letters and numbers without transposition.
- Requires the use of office equipment such as computer, scanner, telephone, copier, printer, fax machine.
- Ability to work on a desktop computer for extended periods of time.
- May require working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
- Work is performed in a medical office.
- There may be some interaction with Illinois CancerCare staff and physicians, as well as contact with non-Illinois CancerCare individuals.
- The employee has limited exposure to toxic substance and is expected to be familiar with the dangers and proper handling of such.
- The employee may be exposed to communicable diseases and other conditions common to the clinical environment.
- Safety policies and good health practices are to be understood and observed.

Responsibilities
- Assist with website development, social media, newsletter content, t-shirt design, merchandising along with internal/external marketing projects.
- Work with the creative team to brainstorm and develop innovative marketing ideas and campaigns.
