About The Position

Griffith Company is offering paid summer internships in its Landscape Division for students pursuing a degree in a landscape-themed academic program. This learning-intensive program will provide interns with challenging work and activities to broaden their awareness of career opportunities in heavy civil construction and with Griffith Company. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Landscape Construction, Landscape Design, Landscape Horticulture, or Ornamental Horticulture, or a very similar area.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates will preferably be enrolled in a Landscape themed academic program.

Responsibilities

  • Perform job site administration and documentation (under supervision).
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule.
  • Track submittals, RFI’s and contract change orders, daily cost vs. project budget, quantities and equipment and project logs.
  • Attend bid review meetings with estimating team to understand the estimate process.
  • Review proposal specifications, drawings, soils reports and existing site conditions to determine scope of work.
  • Complete material and quantity take offs according to project scope of work.
  • Assist superintendent and foreman with layout and other technical requirements.
  • Assist with diesel emissions control plans and monitoring.
  • Preparation of work plans and or storm water protection plans.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
