About The Position

Hartford Fund’s Investment Consulting Group (ICG) provides specialized investment knowledge through analysis, education, and thought leadership for internal and external clients. This internship works closely with business development teams to support asset-gathering and client-service efforts. The intern collaborates with Investment, Sales, Compliance, and Marketing professionals, using various tools to research and deliver content across Hartford Funds’ product lineup. The role provides exposure to performance measurement and assessment, asset allocation, product lifecycle, and competitive positioning.

Requirements

Must be currently enrolled in college as a Business, Finance, or Economics major.
Strong ability to multitask and handle several projects simultaneously.
Interest in financial markets.
Strong desire to learn and professional drive.
Willingness to take on new projects and help the team where needed.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with mutual funds and exchange-traded funds.

Responsibilities

Use FactSet, YCharts, and Morningstar to develop reports that help investment professionals and sales teams position Hartford Funds products, including analysis of performance, portfolio characteristics, peers, and competitors.
Participate in department meetings about due diligence, research topics, and data analytics.
Work with the team to further develop HEART (Hartford Enhanced Analytics and Risk Tool), a primary resource for distribution teams engaging financial professionals on portfolio construction best practices.
Partner with Compliance, Marketing, and Sales on distribution initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned.
