About The Position

The Summer Intern will support the Import Category Management team in driving strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier engagement, and data-driven decision-making across key product categories. This role provides hands-on exposure to procurement strategy, market analysis, and cross-functional collaboration within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, data analysis)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated, curious, and eager to learn

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Power BI or similar tools is a plus
  • Prior internship or coursework in procurement, supply chain, or data analytics
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) is a plus
  • Interest in strategic sourcing and supplier management

Responsibilities

  • Assist in analyzing spend data, supplier performance, and market trends to support category strategies
  • Support the development and execution of sourcing initiatives, including RFQs/RFPs and supplier negotiations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain) to gather requirements and align on category priorities
  • Help track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including cost savings, supplier lead times, and service levels
  • Conduct competitive and market research to identify cost-saving opportunities and supply risks
  • Participate in supplier meetings and internal strategy discussions
  • Contribute to special projects and continuous improvement initiatives within the category management function
