We are seeking motivated and driven interns to join our dynamic Financial Operations department for an exciting internship experience. Individuals selected for the internship will get the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and collaborate across the Core Accounting and Auditing functions while gaining impactful hands-on learning opportunities at a Fortune 50 company! Our Financial Operations team plays a critical role in driving strategic decisions and ensuring we continue to be there for more people, in more ways, forever. While developing your professional talents by completing challenging work assignments during the internship, you will be generating and influencing business results. You'll have the opportunity to participate in events learning about the insurance business, State Farm, various business functions, and more as you develop throughout the summer. Requirements

  • Minimum GPA of 3.5 out of 4.0 (overall and in major)
  • Pursuing degree in Accounting
  • Must be enrolled in at least one course through the completion of the internship and preferred completion of degree pathway and employment eligible within 1-2 years of the internship
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, including advanced formulas and automation techniques
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Learning agility and adaptability to work across multiple teams

  • Initiative and curious mindset

Responsibilities

  • Perform research and analysis of financial information and contribute to strategic decision-making processes
  • Communicate financial information and analysis and explain complex topics to help the audience make informed decisions
  • Review the effectiveness and efficiency of financial, operational, risk management, and compliance control systems by completing audit assignments
  • Interpret and evaluate compliance with external reporting requirements and accounting guidance
  • Compile, prepare, and analyze forecasts, financial statements, and reports to enable informed decision-making and identify trends and impacts
  • Identify and implement process enhancements to allow for greater efficiency and analysis
  • Present business insights and recommendations to leadership
