About The Position

The Finance and Accounting Leadership Accelerator (FALA) Internship is a 10-week paid experience that gives current college students hands-on exposure to corporate accounting and finance. Interns are placed within Bristol Myers Squibb’s Global Finance community across a broad range of areas, including controllership, technical accounting, treasury, financial planning and analysis, global internal audit, and commercial finance. Interns take on real-world assignments and deliver a capstone presentation to finance leadership at the end of the summer. All internships are based out of Central New Jersey. Interns receive mentorship from finance leaders, participate in professional development workshops, and build a strong network across the organization. Top-performing interns will be strongly considered for full-time opportunities in the Finance and Accounting Leadership Accelerator (FALA) upon graduation.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled student, on track to graduate by Spring 2028, seeking a Bachelor’s or Masters’ degree in accounting or finance from an accredited institution.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher.
  • All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and for the duration of their employment.
  • Candidates must have work authorization that does not require sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills and an understanding of data analytics.
  • Curiosity about AI and automation tools, with exposure to or experience using tools such as Claude and Claude Cowork (Anthropic), Power BI, and Power Automate.
  • Proven capability to effectively communicate within work and/or academic environments, with the ability to adapt messages to suit various audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Planning to sit for the Uniform CPA and/or CMA examination upon graduation.
  • Passion for gaining hands-on experience and interest in a full-time role at Bristol Myers Squibb post-graduation.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within a school, extracurricular, and/or professional setting.
  • Previous finance and/or accounting internship experience.
  • Exposure or proficiency in manipulating large sets of data to perform robust analytics.
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively in teams.
  • Completion of accredited Excel or data visualization tool certificate program or course.
  • Desire to work towards a leadership role in a large BioPharma company.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work autonomously and within a team.
