2027 Summer Intern, MS/PhD, Depot Automation

Waymo•San Francisco, CA
•Hybrid

About The Position

Waymo’s Systems Engineering team combines software and hardware systems, establishes performance standards, and designs and performs tests to validate vehicle performance and passenger safety. The Systems Engineering Commercialization team helps depot operations scale efficiently and reliably by developing requirements, test infrastructure, and diagnostic pipelines that keep fleets moving and help resolve issues in real time. The Depot Automation intern will design, implement, and optimize low-latency data pipelines in C++ and SQL for ingesting and structuring real-time depot telemetry. The intern will also develop a responsive frontend dashboard to visualize operations data for operations staff, collaborate with triage engineers and operations staff to understand requirements and iterate on designs, and write maintainable code with an emphasis on testing and code review. This is a hybrid onsite internship. Waymo accepts applications on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
