2027 Summer Intern, Communications Specialist (Reston, VA)
About The Position
ICF Next is seeking candidates for their 2027 summer internship program within the government communications team. This role will assist with mission-driven strategic communications and marketing, focusing on areas such as communications strategy, content creation, writing and editing, media relations, campaigns, and client strategy. The internship is a 10-week, full-time program, typically from early June to mid-August, with a hybrid work model in Reston, VA (2 days per week). ICF is a global advisory and technology services provider that helps clients solve complex challenges and shape the future. Requirements
- A minimum of 60 college credit hours complete in communications, marketing, public relations or a related field
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Work Authorization is required

Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of strategic communications plans and campaigns.
- Contribute to the creation of marketing and communications materials such as factsheets, infographics, social media content, reports and presentations.
- Write and edit compelling written content for internal and external audiences.
- Draft and edit press releases and talking points and monitor media coverage.
- Support the planning and execution of marketing campaigns across various channels.
- Collaborate with team members on client strategy.
- Rotate between multidisciplinary teams to support projects, gain exposure and develop business acumen.
Benefits
- The hourly rate for undergraduate interns will be $23/hour.
