Summer Intern – Cloud/Application Security
About The Position
Insmed is seeking a Summer Intern – Cloud/Application Security to join its Information Technology Team. The internship offers hands-on experience securing cloud and application environments, contributing to team projects, and learning from experienced professionals. The intern may have opportunities for rotational assignments within the function and will be assigned goals and objectives supporting the company’s strategic business plan. The 2027 program is a paid, full-time internship lasting 12 weeks and requiring 40 hours per week. This position is based at Insmed’s Bridgewater, New Jersey office and requires full-time, in-person attendance.
Requirements
- Be a current student working toward a bachelor’s degree in business or science.
- Have familiarity with one or more programming or scripting languages, such as Python or Java, and/or infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
- Be interested in learning about cybersecurity and cloud security concepts.
- Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
Nice To Haves
- Coursework or academic projects related to cybersecurity, cloud computing, software development, or networking.
- Familiarity with cloud computing concepts, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS).
- Exposure to public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Responsibilities
- Assist with assessing cloud and application security configurations to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams on security-related projects and initiatives.
- Research emerging cybersecurity threats, technologies, and industry best practices.
