About The Position

Under direct supervision, Summer Interns participate in a ten-week professional development program designed to provide hands-on, entry-level experience aligned with the student’s major field of study and the sponsoring department’s business operations. Interns gain real-world exposure to OCTA operations and the transportation industry while contributing to meaningful projects and learning from experienced professionals. This is a temporary, full-time internship position (approximately 40 hours per week) and runs for ten weeks during the summer. This posting will remain open until filled.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled full-time college student (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior) at an accredited two- or four-year college or university
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in a field applicable to the hiring department
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Interest in transportation, public service, or business operations
  • Ability to perform entry-level professional work and learn increasingly complex skills
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude and professional demeanor

Responsibilities

  • Participate in project team meetings and field site visits
  • Assist Project Managers with administering, tracking, and monitoring transportation projects in various stages
  • Help coordinate project deliverables and maintain project documentation
  • Perform research, analysis, and project filing as needed
  • Complete professional entry-level duties related to project development
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills while managing multiple assignments under deadlines
  • Proofread work for accuracy and quality
  • Act professionally, show initiative, and demonstrate a strong desire to learn
