POSITION SUMMARY The Summer Production Intern will work alongside our experienced Production team to gain hands-on experience in cabinet manufacturing. This role is designed for students interested in developing practical skills in woodworking and manufacturing while learning industry best practices. The intern will assist with assembling cabinets according to drawings and specifications, safely operate hand and power tools under supervision, and support the team with general production tasks. They will also learn safe work practices, quality standards, and manufacturing processes while helping to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. This is an excellent opportunity to gain real-world experience, build technical skills, and explore a career in cabinet making and manufacturing. This posting is for an existing vacancy and is a short-term opportunity.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Construction, Cabinetmaking, Woodworking, or related program.
  • Comfortable and capable of working with a variety of hand and power tools and equipment.
  • Quick learner with a willingness to develop new skills.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble cabinet components.
  • Construct and finish cabinetwork and assorted products from rough schematics and blueprints.
  • Sand various materials, including wood and countertops/solid surface.
  • Ensure fittings and other components are of good quality.
  • Attach fittings and other components to finished cabinetry.
  • Run the doweling machine.
  • Operate power tools, cabinet press, and other woodworking equipment.
  • Use hand tools, including chisels, files, tape measures, and impact driver/drills.
  • Clean cabinetry/assembled materials.
  • Contribute and participate in the effective use of the Quality Control System.
  • Understand and comply with all Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintain a clean working area free from sawdust and debris between tasks and at the end of the day.
  • Use of proper Personal Protective Equipment is required.
  • Follow Health and Safety Standards and Procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
