Steampunk is seeking a Data Scientist intern who will assist with projects in our Artificial Intelligence (AI) Lab. We are looking for individuals who have a record of outstanding academic performance, high learning agility, and who can work in an open and entrepreneurial way. As a Steampunk Data Scientist intenr your daily responsibilities will include: Collaborating and innovating with the AI Lab Lead and other data scientists and engineers on staff Assisting in development and testing of new AI technical capabilities Staying updated on emerging AI-related technologies As part of the application process, you are expected to be on camera during interviews and assessments. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or math
  • Rising Junior, Senior or current Senior in college
  • Experience writing Python code
  • Experience training machine learning models and performing cross-validation
  • Experience in natural language processing, understanding, and generation (NLP/U/G)
  • Experience developing code that calls Large Language Models (LLMs)
  • Experience with Git
  • Experience working in a Linux environment
  • Local to the DMV area
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and communication skills
  • Strong winning mindset, driven, and resourceful in overcoming obstacles
  • Excellent teambuilding and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
