The Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) and its transit subsidiary, the Port Authority Transit Corporation (PATCO), are seeking college students for a paid 10-week summer 2027 internship in the Homeland Security & Emergency Management Department. The internship pays $20.00 per hour and is based in person at the Benjamin Franklin Bridge Administration Building in Camden, New Jersey. Interns work 40 hours per week, including a paid lunch hour, from June 7 through August 13, 2027, on one of three standard schedules: 7:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m., 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., or 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. The internship provides hands-on exposure to a professional work environment. Interns report to an assigned Project Manager, review daily tasks, and work semi-independently on assigned work while seeking clarification when needed. They are also expected to report anomalies involving security protocols and perform other duties within the Security and Emergency Management environment. Applicants must be at least 18, have a high school diploma or GED, pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and a criminal background investigation, and reside within DRPA’s Port District. They must document full-time undergraduate enrollment during both Fall 2026 and Spring 2027, completion of at least 24 credits across those semesters (at least 12 credits in each), and full-time undergraduate enrollment with at least 12 credits for Fall 2027. Required enrollment documentation, including an official transcript, must be provided by June 15, 2027. Applicants must be available for the full internship period.
