About The Position

Summer Help – Production employees are to assist with basic shop and manufacturing operations during the summer months, May through August. This temporary position supports multiple production departments and is ideal for individuals who are mechanically inclined and eager to gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment. This diverse role allows employees to work with a variety of power tools while having the opportunity to grow their knowledge and skills. Summer Help employees may rotate between departments based on operational needs and will work closely with experienced team members to support daily production goals. This position works directly with other members of production, supervisors, and the production manager when necessary.

Requirements

  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Exposure to blueprint reading.
  • Mechanical ability, operate air impacts, drills, other power tools.
  • Read tape measure, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Ability to learn and advance quickly.
  • Good at problem solving.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Understand and carry out simple oral and written instructions.
  • Show ability to read, write and use basic math skills.
  • Ability to communicate, in English, effectively and clearly by both written and verbal means.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment written math test, physical, drug, and background test.
  • 18 years or older.
  • High school diploma or GED with 1-year of work experience.
  • Strong mechanical ability and experience using power tools and forklift when necessary.
  • Wear correct PPE – earplugs, protective eye wear, steel-toed boots, and work provided uniform (gloves when necessary).
  • Lift a minimum of 50lbs.
  • Stand on concrete for 8-10 hours.
  • Practice and maintain safe work conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Epicor or similar ERP system.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with general shop and production operations.
  • Help with making tubes and completing basic assembly tasks.
  • Wash parts and assist with general cleaning and organization of work areas.
  • Provide additional support on special projects as needed.
  • Operate basic hand tools and equipment under supervision.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
